Interview Questions

How do you evaluate success?

Success is hard to define. It can be seen in the many accomplishments that we make in this life. I can be a successful author when I publish my first book or when I do my first book signing, but who is to say that I am not already successful. Must I have something complete in order to feel successful? I do not feel that I do. Success to me is less fiscal and more mental. Do I have the determination to keep living my dreams even when everything is against me? If I do, If I put forth everything that I have to accomplish a goal then I believe I am already successful. Perhaps that's not how the rest of the world will see it but that knowledge is what gives me the drive to accomplish great things.

What are your goals for the future?

As I look to the future I see a life full of love and laughter. I am not afraid to admit that my goal has always been first to be a loving mother and wife. My family comes first before anything else. I can see myself running through the grass tickling my little children as we have a family picnic. Then opening my laptop or a notepad and creating wonderful worlds and people that others can enjoy. I simply love writing and I want to share that with other people. It is my dream to have a wonderful book that I can be proud of lining the shelves of a book store or library. I am determined to make my dream a reality and I rejoice in my new found confidence to do so!

If you could have dinner with any person who would it be?

I would love to have dinner with Brandon Sanderson. His books have always inspired me and have given me the drive I need to be the author I know I can be. I would love to drill him with questions and then simply listen as he poured out all his wisdom on me!

About Me

As a little girl stories have always enchanted me. Hearing of adventures and magical tails always put me on the edge of my seat. But there was just one problem, I hated reading. I struggled to learn the complicated art of reading. It seemed an impossible task, yet those stories called to me and I longed to be a part of them. When I was finally able to master the art I set out to find and read every story imaginable. I was drawn to the wonderful tails of Knights and dragons and began to see the amazing insights and morals they can have in my real life. I have learned truths that have helped in my life from characters who have never left the pages of their books though they are very real to me. I knew then that I wanted to create people and places that could have the same effect on other people as these stories had on me.
